Since it was so nice to travel together to Cambridge, my Michael and I have decided we're going to take another trip to Europe next year. We are devying up our vacation now and decided it was important.
So... where to? Unfortunately we still feel like the girls are too young for us to leave them for more than just a long weekend so we have to limit our destination to something "smallish" or a destination we've already been to before.
Top "new" contenders? Perhaps Stockholm? Budapest? Ireland? Spain? Croatia?
Top "been there" contenders? Perhaps Paris? Prague? Switzerland? Germany?
Ideally we'd see something new. But ideally we'd also see my penpal (who lives in Germany) and my doula (who lives in Paris now).
Oh the choices! But one thing is certain... I'm super excited already!

A Cambridge Renewal
There is something about Europe, something about traveling with my Michael that renews me. Maybe it's the open-air markets that they have?
Perhaps it's the grand buildings?
Or the churches? I LOVE the churches.
Or perhaps it's the occasional grand bridge. It's called the "bridge of sighs" and though it's a sigh of different sorts, that's still my reaction.
Perhaps it's the chance to sit on a punting boat with a loved one.
Perhaps one like this?
Perhaps it's the ability to just sit back and relax enough to enjoy the simple things, even if you can't quite put your finger on any one thing in particular.
Maybe it's the fact that church steeples seem so common placed.
Nope. I think it HAS to be the church windows. Definitely the church windows.
Regardless, there is something about Europe, whether it be England, Germany, Italy or France... any place in Europe, and even for just a few days... there is SOMETHING about it that renews me and reminds me how wonderful it is to have found my soul mate... My partner for life's adventures. My co-Pirate in this Treasuter Hunt.

Treasure Hunting
Welcome to our Treasure Hunt blog! I know it's a little unconventional to welcome people to a blog on the 12th post, but I actually only retro-actively added the previous 11 posts so they don't count. Originally they were sent via email to our friends and family but I wanted to document the stories here.
So... here we are. Some of you may already have heard about our Treasure Hunt list, but for those of you who haven't, I'll give you a little bit of background.
Way back when Michael and I just started dating, he had this wonderful idea to come up with a treasure hunt list. The idea was to put an item on the list for every place we wanted to travel to together. When we go to that destination, we buy the item and add it to our pile of treasure.
Obviously it's a work in progress. And we often add to the original list.
It's fun. It's exciting. It's an adventure. It's OUR adventure.
